FACTORS AT PLAY.

Since the 1960’s, Congolese people have endured over two decades of armed conflict with over 5.4 million people dead due to war. Making it the deadliest conflict since World War II.

Congo is currently going through a silent genocide in Goma. The reason at play today for the war is because of the natural resources, particularly coltan.

Congo produces around 70% of the world’s coltan, which has become a significant mineral set to be the key to the future.

(In 2021, the DRC's coltan production amounted to an estimated 700 tones, making the country the world's largest coltan producer).

The iPhones we have today all have coltan in them. Which means everyone wants this, America, the UK, many other countries continue to finance rebel groups to destabilise Congo so that Coltan can be extracted at a cheap price and easily smuggled outside of the country.

Furthermore, the oldest national park in Africa is the Congo’s Virunga national park. It is home to rare mountain gorillas, lions and elephants. The park however, is currently under theft by the UK oil company, SoCo, which have begun oil exploration there.

Rates of sexual violence in DRC are alarming. A comprehensive study in 2011 placed the figures between 1.69 and 1.8 million women who have been raped in their lifetime. Often many women who have experienced sexual violence do not report it or seek help/ aid.

Decades of underfunding and neglect of the government, healthcare sector, and lack of education alongside the ongoing conflict in the East of Congo are all factors that have contributed to the state we see Congo in today, however, there is hope for tomorrow's generation.

OUR OBJECTIVES / GOALS

ADVOCACY.

We want to work in collaboration with you so we can be the voice/ advocate for those who have either been silenced or do not have the courage to speak up about the injustice happening in our country.

Advocacy is an essential pillar of our movement. There is strength in numbers and we work to inform and encourage others to help us take a stand for this cause.

PARTNERSHIP.

We're open to partnering with charities, churches, and individuals who also have a vision to make a change in Congo for a better tomorrow.

Partnership is important to us because we believe that the best solutions for the Congolese community will come from within. We will therefore, make it our mission to build awareness.

GOD CARES ABOUT CONGO.

God created Congo with so much riches, however, due to unfortunate factors the people of Congo have not been able to benefit from our natural resources.

In circumstances like this God reminds us to do what we can to help those in need.

Matthew 25:35-36.

OUTREACH.

We must make noise in order to bring awareness, because for how long will Congo continue to suffer in silence.

Give us some ideas of outreach methods so we can reach the necessary individuals to help with this project or if know of any organisations who would be interested in joining forces please use the link above and below to make your suggestions.
